MARCELLE GOSS STUDIO

Exhibiting at Stanford Kitchen & Casa Blanca

Marcelle Goss is a botanical printmaker working with the expressive medium of gelli printing. Each work is created using real leaves, flowers and natural plant forms, layered by hand in a slow and intuitive process. Her practice is rooted in observation and a deep love for place ó whether exploring the rugged coasts of Madagascar, the Fynbos covered hills of the Overberg or her own Stanford paths.

Gelli printing is a form of monotype printing ó each print is a one of a kind, hand pulled impression. Using a flexible printing plate, water soluble block printing ink
the process allows for spontaneous mark making, texture and intricate details.

Marcelle works in series, responding to each location through colours, shapes, story and interpreting them in her own unique style ó perfectly imperfect. No two prints are alike . This is a celebration of wildness, locality and seasonal beauty.
