Michele Nigrini
14 Queen Victoria Street | 10:00-16:00
Renowned artist Michèle Nigrini has recently moved from Rosendal in the Eastern Free State to the village of Stanford. Welcoming this new beginning, she has opened an exhibition space at 14 Queen Victoria Street, right in the centre of town.
Her gallery, ‘Michele Nigrini Art’, offers an intimate setting where visitors can discover her latest work. Alongside her expressive paintings, Nigrini presents pieces created with fynbos: dried proteas and other plants gathered from the surrounding landscapes serve not only as subjects but also as tools, used like brushes to leave their unique marks on the canvas.
Nigrini’s well-known style of gestural expressionism—defined by energetic strokes, vibrant colour, and movement—comes alive in this carefully curated space. A selection of original artworks, prints, and cards is available.
The gallery is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00 during Stanford in Bloom, with after-hours visits arranged directly with the artist at 082 423 1970.
